Who we are.

Team Arcis was founded to give engineering students real, substantive project experience demanding ownership, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and the ability to deliver under pressure.

The team operates with defined divisions, design review cycles, and documented engineering standards. Every member is accountable for specific subsystems of the aircraft.

The team has run continuously across multiple academic batches. Each graduating cohort passes down institutional knowledge, design archives, and tested engineering methods.

What we compete in

Arcis participates in two internationally recognised student aviation engineering competitions. Both demand genuine engineering skills.

SAE
Aero Design Challenge

SAE Aero Design is an annual international competition where student teams design, build, and fly radio-controlled aircraft in multiple categories: Regular, Advanced, or Micro Class. Teams are scored on the design report, aircraft structure and performance, and mission-specific criteria.

The rules impose geometric and operational constraints that make optimisation challenging.

AIAA
Design/Build/Fly

AIAA Design/Build/Fly presents a new scoring scenario every year, with unique multi-mission objectives, geometric constraints, and payload configurations that change annually. Teams must adapt their design philosophy to each year's ruleset.

The competition rewards teams who build aircraft that perform well in flight, and document their design process rigorously.
